Vino Storia visit — Colmar

⏱ Around 1 hr 30🎧 Audio guide in 6 languages included🍷 Tasting included

From vine to bottle, a lively walk through the heart of the Alsace vineyard.

Set right in the centre of Colmar, Vino Storia tells the story of Alsace wines: work in the vines, the winegrower's craft, the trades that revolve around wine and the bottles it ends up in. Self-guided visit, at your own pace, audio guide in hand.

On the programme for your visit:

  • From vine to bottle: the cycle of the seasons, the wine press, winemaking, then the trades of the cooper, the glassmaker and the wine merchant.
  • Hands-on games: harvest the grapes, tread them, stack the barrels, fill and label your own bottle — you learn by getting stuck in.
  • The nose and the palate: learn to recognise the aromas of Alsace grape varieties, and understand what you smell before you understand what you taste.
  • The Wine Route: 170 km from Marlenheim to Thann, the oldest wine route in France, told village by village.

I found it a really interesting museum, very thorough and fun. A nicely thought-out little tasting, with or without alcohol. […]

Very interesting and very well organised visit, combined ticket with the chocolate museum. Quieter than the latter as there were fewer people. […]
